Nordyke casts herself as transparent, compassionate alternative in mayor’s race
As mayor, Vanessa Nordyke wants to be a champion for Salem.
The second-term city councilor made her pitch to voters Tuesday, March 31, at a city election Town Hall hosted by Salem Reporter at the Elsinore Theatre.
She’s seeking the volunteer job as Salem’s figurehead and top elected leader on Tuesday, May 19, challenging Mayor Julie Hoy for the seat.

I think Vanessa would be a very effective and compassionate mayor.
