  1. That’s how it’s suppose to happen, Law Enforcement of Oregon working with the Federal Government even if it’s I.C.E. This being a Sanctuary State needs to disappear! Politicians need to be arrested for harboring fugitives and illegals!!

  2. Oregon is a Sanctuary state with Revised Statutes and protections for everyone. Immigrants communities are an integral part of this state and are here to stay.
A couple of things that I often hear in reference to the immigrant communities come to mind and are really applicable here to.
If you feel “they” should be deported , jailed, whatever then “do it the right way” i.e. Judicial Warrant, due process etc. And if you do not like Oregon with its flourishing immigrant communities, you always have the option of leaving.

  3. You have it backwards mpjfenning. It’s the Federal Government’s responsibility to work with STATE law enforcement.

Within the state, the State Constitution and Oregon Revised Statues are the superior entity.

      • Migration is the Federal domain according to the Constitution. States do not have supremecy. The ‘immigrants: were in court for a reason….suspected of committing crime in the USA. People coming here need to be held to the same standards as American citizens… No special treatment

  4. My recollection is that all local and federal law enforcement enter data into the same federal database. That is why the FEDS do not need access to more State of Oregon records. Also, ICE has arrested defendants who had judicial warrants OUTSIDE of the courthouse in the past (pre-Trump). The MCSO did not participate; they monitored. BUT going into the courthouse and making outrageous requests for records they have access to is just a play to attract attention and make people feel powerless.
