Another issue you can look at is the selection process of the proposed developer. It is my understanding that one of the key points in the proposal that led to the selection of the planned project was a pocket park on site. From my understanding, that use is not allowable in the CBD. Who missed that? Urban renewal staff ? Was the pocket park a deciding issue for the choice of the developers or did the developers throw that in as a use knowing it couldn’t be done so that they could then get a higher density use?
