5 things to know: Local governments zero in on Wallace Marine as residents worry about options

Last week, Salem Reporter shared a detailed report about the status of Wallace Marine Park, West Salem’s largest park and a longtime camping spot for around 200 homeless people in the community who have few alternatives.

It came the same week that Marion County Commissioners hosted the first meeting of a new effort with Polk County and the city of Salem to discuss the potential for a joint plan to address camping at the park.
