Early morning Northgate house fire injures one, $150,000 in damage

Firefighters knocked down an early morning house fire near Northgate Park Thursday that injured one person.

Dispatch records show the report came in at 1:17 a.m. from 2560 Northgate Ave N.E.

The two-alarm fire prompted a response from Salem, Keizer and Marion County Fire District crews. Records show 17 vehicles responded, including medical responders, as well as air support.

All occupants escaped, the Salem Fire Department said in a social media post. One was transported to Salem Hospital.

The fire caused $150,000 in damage, the department estimated

Assistant Salem Fire Chief Brian Carrara was not available for additional details. Joe Hutchinson, city of Salem emergency manager, declined to answer questions about the fire, citing an active investigation.
