A driver collided with a Salem Fire Department battalion chief vehicle Monday morning in the Northgate neighborhood.
No one was injured in the crash just before 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Northeast Portland Road and Northeast Hyacinth Street, according to Brian Carrara, the fire department’s assistant chief of business operations.
Carrara said the fire vehicle was struck in the rear passenger side, on the panel behind the door.
He said an investigation is pending and it’s unclear which driver was at fault.
The battalion chief was headed to a 911 call in north Salem when the crash occurred.
