PHOTOS: Oregon students bring poetry to life at state recitation contest

Katie Lineburg, a senior from Hillsboro who attends St. Stephen’s Academy, took home the championship at Oregon’s Poetry Out Loud finals in Salem Saturday.

The annual poetry recitation contest draws students from across the state, who compete to represent Oregon at a national contest.

Two Salem students also performed. Traiton Kramer and Brayden Olsen, seniors at Oregon School for the Deaf, competed, signing poems in American Sign Language.
