A woman died in a fire early Friday morning at a southeast Salem RV park.
The fire killed a 64-year-old woman who was living in a trailer at Salem Campground & RVs, 3700 Hagers Grove Rd. S.E., according to Angela Hedrick, Salem Police Department spokeswoman.
Police have not identified the woman who died in the fire. The cause of the blaze could not immediately be established.
People pay a fee to stay at the site in the southeast Mill Creek area. The campground is near Cascades Gateway Park, separated by Interstate 5.
Witnesses reported on social media that neighbors tried to contain the fire with hoses and fire extinguishers until fire crews arrived.
