No arrests reported two days after south Salem stabbing

The Salem police have not announced any arrests two days after the stabbing of a man Tuesday morning in south Salem.

Patrol officers, the Salem Fire Department and Falck Northwest Ambulance responded to a report of a stabbing around 5:40 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, according to an emergency call log.

Police found a 28-year-old man near the area of Southeast 12th and Rural Streets with several stab wounds, according to Angela Hedrick, Salem Police Department spokeswoman.

Officers provided medical care while waiting for an ambulance, which then took the man to Salem Hospital. The victim is expected to survive , Hedrick said.

She said Tuesday morning that no arrests had been made in the police investigation, which remained active.
