UPDATE: Police find teen reported missing

UPDATE: The Salem Police Department said early Thursday evening that officers found the teen safe.

Salem police are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing teen.

The teen, who police referred to as Michelle, was last seen wearing grey baggy sweat pants and a t-shirt, according to a Salem Police Department Facebook post late Thursday afternoon.

Michelle is 5-feet-1 inch and 110 pounds, the agency said, but didn’t provide an age. Anyone who has seen her or knows her location should call Salem police at 503-588-6123, option 1 and refer to case number 23002439.

The department has also asked the public to share the image of Michelle and the connected case number to help find her.

The agency didn’t release details on the circumstances of her disappearance. It clarified Friday that the missing person was a teen.

This is a developing story.
