PHOTOS: Salem gets in the Halloween spirit

Jack Skellington, a firefighter, a princess and Elmo were all roaming Salem’s streets Sunday.

Local kids got into the Halloween spirit at Gilbert House Children’s Museum’s “Halloween Re-Engineered” event, where bright contraptions and a red dragon dispensed candy. At Willamette Heritage Center, trick-or-treaters got a basket full of candy handed out by local businesses and organizations without ever having to leave the car.

While much of the Halloween celebration took place this weekend, several Salem organizations are hosting trunk-or-treats, parades or other Halloween events this evening. Check out our events guide for a full listing.
