Southeast Sunnyside Road reduced to 1 lane starting Oct. 31

Southeast Sunnyside Road in Salem will be reduced to just one lane of traffic starting next week, until likely the end of November.

Starting Oct. 31, Salem city crews will work to install a new sewer extension between Southeast Baxter Road and Southeast Fabry Road to accommodate future connections to nearby properties in the neighborhood, according to a press release from the city Tuesday.

“Traffic is expected to be impacted during the daytime with flaggers allowing one lane of traffic on (Southeast) Sunnyside Road from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. during construction,” the release stated.

The city will place signs warning drivers of the construction this week. Construction on the area is expected to last through the end of November.

Salem’s current road conditions and closures can be viewed in an online interactive map on the city’s website.
