Salem detectives on Tuesday arrested a Grants Pass man for multiple sex crimes after police received reports he had posed as a teen online.
Tyler J. Hausen, 23, was charged Wednesday with second-degree sodomy, purchasing sex with a minor, luring a minor and second-degree encouraging child sex abuse in Marion County Circuit Court, according to court records.
Police began investigating Hausen after receiving reports that he had posed as a 16-year-old on a social media platform — asking a 13-year-old girl for nude images or sexual favors in exchange for marijuana or liquid nicotine, Salem Police Department wrote in a statement Thursday.
Detectives also learned Hausen was sending sexually explicit images of himself to young girls through the social media platform, according to the department’s statement.
Hausen was being held at Marion County Jail without bail as of Thursday afternoon, the jail’s roster showed.
