AGENDA: Marion County commissioners consider federal, state grants for victim services

The Marion County Board of Commissioners meets Wednesday to consider accepting about $1.31 million in federal and state grants to provide direct services to crime victims in the county.

Of that, about $865,000 would come through federal funds and $447,000 through the state. The grants are retroactive to October 2021 and will last through September 2023.

Commissioners will consider appointing Laura Allen to the Marion County Local Alcohol and Drug Planning Committee, which advises the county’s health and human services administrator and the board of commissioners.

The board will consider distributing about $191,000 in revenue from timber sales in the county. The largest amounts will be about $64,000 to Marion County, $43,000 to the county school fund and $34,500 Santiam Canyon School District #129.

The commissioners will consider a roughly $762,000 contract with ACF West Construction Company Inc. for the seasonal removal and installation of monofil coverings at the North Marion Transfer Station in Woodburn through August 2025.
