UPDATE: The area of Hawthorne Avenue and Northeast D Street is reopened to traffic, the Salem Police Department said Friday.

The area of Northeast Hawthorne Avenue and Northeast D Street is closed due to a crash, police say.

The Salem Police Department said in a tweet at 2 p.m. that four vehicles are blocking the road, and drivers should avoid the area.

The agency’s tweet provided no information about any injuries.
