Salem police Bike Rodeo Sunday gives tips on riding, maintaining your whip

Salem kids and teens on Sunday can learn tips for riding bikes and keeping them in good condition at the Salem Police Department’s Bicycle Rodeo.

The event is for ages 5-18 and covers basic and advanced skills, road safety, and bicycle maintenance.

“Participants should bring their bike and helmet, but if they don’t have one–no worries–please come on by!” said a post on the Salem police’s Facebook page.

The Bicycle Rodeo is coordinated by officers of the department’s Community Action Unit.

Those who attend can park at the Marion Parkade at the corner of Northeast Liberty and Union Streets, and bike or walk to the event at Maps Credit Union parking lot at 451 Division St. N.E.
