Salem police are investigating a homicide after finding a woman shot in her northeast Salem home Wednesday.
Around 1:20 a.m. on Jan. 6, officers responded to a welfare check in the 1100 block of Northeast Norway Avenue, according to a news release.
When they arrived, they found Amanda Marie Mankins, 32, with a gunshot wound. Police took her to Salem Hospital where she later died from her injuries.
Police said the initial investigation doesn’t indicate there’s a danger to the community. Police didn’t release any additional details, like potential suspects in the shooting.
