Body found in Willamette River, sheriff’s office says
A boater on Thursday morning found a partially decomposed body in the Willamette River near the Buena Vista Ferry, south of Independence, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.
Deputies said they don’t know how long the man had been dead and at that location. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 28 at 10:30 a.m.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have information about missing persons believed to have been in the area to contact Detective Bob Evarts at 503-588-8507.
