Pay tribute to veterans ahead of Veteran’s Day. A Tribute to Veterans will start at noon at the Oregon State Capitol on Friday, with the presentation of the colors by the North Salem High School Army JROTC Color Guard in the rotunda, followed by a performance from the Oregon Spirit Chorus.

Take a ride through the world, dreams, the past and the future during Chemeketa Community College’s new production 365 days/365 plays. The stops are a way of organizing 20 short plays by theme. Director Jay Gibson-King said “Each short play packs a punch.”
The play runs Nov. 8 through 9 and Nov. 14 through 16 at 7:30 pm. There’s a matinee on Nov. 10 at 2:00 p.m. in the Building 6 Auditorium. 4000 Lancaster Drive N.E.

Celebrate the Hindu festival of light with INDUS this Saturday. Salem’s Diwali celebration starts at 4:30 p.m. and goes until 8:30 p.m. at Blanchet Catholic School. Willamette Master Chorus is performing Made in America on November 9 and 10 at 3 p.m. at Hudson Hall, 900 State St. The annual veterans concert features “requiem” by John Rutter with orchestra, chorus and soloist. More info is on the Willamette Master Chorus website.
