The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory as temperatures are expected to reach into the high 90s Wednesday.
It’s going to be a hot one today. The National Weather Service is predicting highs from 92 to 102 degrees.
The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for the region because of above-normal temperatures and the possibility of heat-related illnesses. The advisory is in effect until 8 p.m.
The hottest part of the day will be between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Weather is expected to cool down on Thursday, with a 30% chance of rain.

Tuesday also reached triple-digit temperatures with a high of 100 degrees at 2:43 p.m. That’s one degree shy of a 1935 record for the hottest Aug. 27 in Salem.
Salem’s record heat for Aug. 28 was also set in 1935 when it was 100 degrees out.
To stay cool on very hot days, the Oregon Health Authority suggests people to stay in air-conditioned areas, wear loose-fitting clothing, and avoid hot foods, alcohol and sugary drinks.
OHA also advises parents or pet owners to never leave infants, children or pets in parked car.
