Salem man dies in southeast Salem house fire

A Salem man died in a house fire Friday morning (Marion County Fire)

A Salem man died after a southeast Salem house caught fire Friday morning.

Timothy Allen, 45, was rescued from the home and transported to Salem Health, but later died while undergoing treatment, Marion County Fire District No. 1 said in a statement.

The district responded to the blaze in the 4300 block of Munkers Street S.E. around 5:15 a.m.

Crews arrived to the scene to find the home filled with smoke and flames, according to the district.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Salem Fire Department, Turner Fire District, Keizer Fire Department, Aumsville Fire Department and Faulk Ambulance all responded to the scene as well, the district said.
