Salem police said Brett Dhone, 37, of Canby, “suffered a medical event” Friday morning before driving his truck off Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway and colliding with a tree. Dhone later died at Salem Hospital.

Patricia Estrada, 62, was on the shoulder of the Northwest Edgewater Street on-ramp to Salem-Dallas Highway and moved into a van’s path when the driver struck her, police said. Estrada was hospitalized and died 15 days later.
