Three injured in northeast Salem drive-by shooting

Three people were injured in a drive-by shooting Monday night in northeast Salem, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said.

When deputies arrived on scene at 47th Avenue Northeast near Polaris Street Northeast around 10:12 p.m., the suspect had already fled the scene.

The victims were taken to Salem Health for treatment and the sheriff’s office said none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

Monday night’s shooting was the fourth reported shooting in northeast Salem since Sunday.

“At this point our investigators are following up on all leads,” said sheriff’s office spokesman Sgt. Jeremy Landers. “It’s too early to rule out any possible connections.”

Landers said sometimes shootings come in spurts, especially during the summer months when the sheriff’s office responds to more calls.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the shooting to call the sheriff’s office non-emergency number at 503-588-5032.
