Your Friday evening update on Salem news

Good evening, Salem.

This week has been somewhat quiet as people return from holiday vacations, but life in Salem will be in full swing starting Monday as budget forecasts, plans for the legislative session, airport upgrades and more get a hearing.

Our team is also looking into the state of Salem’s residential rental market and how rent increases are impacting people here. If you’d like to share your thoughts or have recently had a rent increase or raised rent for tenants, we’d like to hear from you. Email reporter Abbey McDonald [email protected].

You can always find our latest coverage on our website. Here’s some of today’s news.
