Your Wednesday evening update on Salem news

Good evening, Salem.

Salem Reporter is continuing to keep up with election results, and we have you covered on local measures and candidates.

Marion County will next post updated results by 5 p.m. Thursday, so tallies haven’t changed since last night. But the city of Salem declared victory for its $300 million infrastructure package after 65% of votes counted on Election Night gave the measure a thumbs up.

That will mean a decade of street and sidewalk projects intended to make it easier for you to get around Salem – along with parks improvements, new fire trucks and the first steps toward more city branch libraries.

The Oregonian/OregonLive called the governor’s race for Democrat Tina Kotek midday Wednesday, noting that most ballots remaining to be counted are in Multnomah County, which tends to vote liberal. But the Associated Press still had the race too close to call as of 4 p.m.
