Good evening….

Salem-Keizer School District leaders have canceled a school board meeting scheduled for tonight due to severe weather.

The board was supposed to get a a public update from Chairperson Ashley Carson Cottingham about the search for a new superintendent for the school district.

The next regular board meeting is scheduled for March 14 and will include opportunity for public comment, according to school board secretary Alice Struckmeier.

The National Weather Service is forecasting scattered rain and snow showers in Salem before 7 p.m. – then the snow level lowering to 200 feet after midnight. The agency’s latest reading at McNary Field calls for a low around 26 tonight, with “little or no snow accumulation expected.”
