Your Friday evening update on Salem news

Good evening….

There’s an open invitation to wear something green and head to Riverfront Park on Saturday for the annual St. Patrick’s Parade, hosted by Salem nonprofit Céilí of the Valley.

Gathering starts at 11:30 a.m. at the park carousel, 101 Front St. S.E. The parade will get rolling at noon and make its way through downtown to the sounds of Willamette Valley Pipes & Drums. Admission is free.

“Leprechauns, fairies, and all those Irish at heart are invited. Bring your friends and family,” the nonprofit says.

We’ll have a photographer there to bring you a photo gallery next week with snapshots of the St. Patrick’s Walk-About.
