Forty firefighters responded to Marion Recycling at 3690 Brooklake Rd N.E. after a fire started on the loading floor just before 3 p.m., according to Deputy Fire Chief Ron Lee.

The fire started in debris brought into the facility. Staff had to move piles outside while firefighters worked to extinguish the fire outside.

The effort took over 100,000 gallons of water, Lee said. Fire crews cleared the scene around 9:45 p.m.
