Good evening, Salem.
State Rep. Kevin Mannix, a Salem Republican, is the latest lawmaker to file for reelection in 2026.
Mannix announced his reelection bid for House District 21 late last week, calling himself “Oregon’s most effective bipartisan lawmaker.” He represents north Salem and Keizer. This year, he championed a bill to ban nonconsensual distribution AI-generated intimate images, often called “revenge porn.” He’s also leading an effort to repeal Oregon’s estate tax.
So far, no Democrat has filed to run against him. One other Republican, Art Stevenson, has filed for the Republican nomination for the seat. Stevenson lists himself as a retired small business owner in his filing.
State Rep. Tom Andersen, a south Salem Democrat, has also filed for reelection in House District 19 – so far without a challenger.
