Good evening, Salem.

Several federal agencies are testing the nation’s emergency alert systems tomorrow morning. Your phone may make noise, even if it’s in silent mode – don’t panic.

The test is scheduled for 11:20 a.m. Pacific time. Phones will display an alert message in either English or Spanish, depending on which language the handset is set to.

More information about the test is on the FEMA website here.

Also, due to staff error, we neglected to send out our daily headlines email yesterday evening. We apologize for the oversight and have included a selection of stories from both days below to catch you up.
