More than 100 people gathered today outside the Capitol to honor Oregon veterans. The celebration brought together families, elected officials and current and retired members of the military. Hailey Cook captured the event in images below.
Across town in northeast Salem, federal immigration authorities arrested at least 16 people early Tuesday morning, according to a network of groups tracking such arrests. Information on the people arrested is scarce, but advocacy groups said at least nine were farmworkers.
