Your Wednesday evening update on Salem news

Good evening, Salem.
One of our own is getting some well-deserved recognition tomorrow.
Ron Cooper, the drone-flying photojournalist who’s been shooting life in Salem for decades, is receiving the aptly-named G.O.A.T. Award from Travel Salem Thursday (that’s “greatest of all time”).

We hope you’ll join us in congratulating Ron when you see him around town with his camera. Below is one of our favorite photos we’ve had the privilege of publishing from Ron – a tapestry of downtown Salem shortly after the completion of the Gerry Frank | Salem Rotary Amphitheater in Riverfront Park.

We’ll have a rundown of all the Travel Salem awardees later this week.
Here’s some other news of the day.
