Good evening, Salem.

With most votes counted in local school board races, results from late Election Night have held. Incumbent Satya Chandragiri, a psychiatrist, remains narrowly ahead of challenger Kelley Strawn, a Willamette University professor. Chandragiri had 20,515 votes to Strawn’s 20,025 after a Marion County update Thursday.

Cynthia Richardson maintained a lead over Casity Troutt, and Krissy Hudson was well ahead of Larry Scruggs. You can see all totals on our results page.

Marion County’s only remaining ballots to count are those that arrive in the mail, which can be up to a week after Election Day. About 500 county voters need to correct signature issues on their ballots to have their votes counted, Clerk Bill Burgess said.

Polk County will next update vote totals Wednesday, May 24.
