Good evening, Salem.

A flood watch is in effect for the mid-Willamette Valley through 11 p.m. Friday, March 13, which won’t come as a surprise if you’ve stepped outside lately.

Rain has been steady in the area over the past day, recording about 1.3 inches in 24 hours at a gauge in south Salem as of Thursday afternoon. Wet weather will continue through at least Friday night, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Rivers and streams in Salem remain below flood levels. You can always check those levels here.
