Your Wednesday evening update on Salem news

If you’re noticing something in the air, it’s not just you — air quality for Salem is in the moderate category Tuesday afternoon, hitting 53 as of 2 p.m., according to the state Department of Environmental Quality.
That’s due to ozone levels, the agency’s map says, which typically cause smog. “Widespread haze” is expected to continue Thursday in Salem, the National Weather Service in Portland said.
