It’s still a few months away, but one of Salem’s newer community events is seeking participants.

Entertainers, artists and vendors are welcome to apply for September’s ¡Viva Salem! Festival celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.

On Saturday, Sept. 28, the festival will return to Riverfront Park for its second year. It will be free and open for all ages, and entertainers will be paid for their performances, according to a statement from the city.

“This is a City event intended to bring together our entire community to celebrate this beautiful part of our Hispanic culture,” the statement said.
