The National Weather Service’s Portland office has issued a high wind advisory starting at 7 p.m. tonight for the central Willamette Valley and Portland Metro area.

The forecast calls for southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph, or 55 mph on exposed, hilltop locations.

“Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” the advisory says.

The advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday. We’ll keep you updated on major weather developments.
