Good evening, Salem.

If you live in west Salem, you have a chance to apply for an empty seat on the Salem-Keizer School Board.

Western University of Health Sciences Lebanon Oregon

The board is seeking applicants to fill the seat vacated when Osvaldo Avila resigned earlier this month. Avila represented zone 1, which covers west Salem and a portion of south Salem.

An appointee would serve the remainder of Avila’s term, through June 30, 2025.

Applicants must have lived in zone 1 for at least a year and be registered to vote. They cannot be a school district employee.

Applications must be received by March 1 at 5 p.m. to be considered. An application packet and more information is available on the district website.
