Your Tuesday evening update on Salem news

Good evening, Salem.
The U.S. and Iran reached a two-week ceasefire agreement Tuesday, April 7. That came just 90 minutes before President Donald Trump’s previously announced deadline for Iran to meet his demands. Otherwise, he threatened in a social media post, “a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.”
A small protest began on Northeast Center Street near the Oregon Capitol Tuesday afternoon just before the ceasefire was announced. Our reporters caught up with a few of the people out demonstrating.
Gas prices continue to climb, averaging $4.93 a gallon for regular fuel in Salem today, according to AAA. Diesel was at $6.30 a gallon.
