Your Friday evening update on Salem news

Good evening, Salem.
High school thespians will converge downtown next week for the annual Oregon Thespians state festival. Organizers are hoping to draw them into downtown businesses – with help from business owners.
About 2,000 students, advisers and more will attend the event, which is themed “Adventures in Neverland.” Businesses can participate by providing a themed meal special, offering a discount for performers who sing or dance or other fun activities. Those interested can fill out a Google Form here.
Organizers are hoping to get businesses signed up by Monday, April 6. The festival begins Thursday, April 9.
And don’t forget – this evening is the First Friday Art Walk until 8 p.m. at various galleries and venues in downtown Salem. Our monthly roundup of local exhibits has more on what to see.
