Good evening, Salem.

Earth Day isn’t until April 22, but Marion County has a month’s worth of events to help people of all ages learn about the environment.

One is coming up this weekend – a litter cleanup that doubles as a chance to learn about removing pollutants from stormwater.

The county’s environmental service department’s Water Quality Cleanup is on Saturday, April 13, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. along 45th Street in East Salem. Register in advance and get more details here.

It’s one of the events that’s part of the Passport to Sustainability, a series of parks and Earth-themed activities county residents can complete this month for prizes. Check out the full list here – and save the date for the county’s Earth Day party on Friday, April 26, from 3-7 p.m. at Spong’s Landing Park in Keizer.
