Good evening, Salem.
Smoky skies remain in the forecast with dozens of wildfires burning across Oregon and the rest of the Northwest.
The National Weather Service says skies will remain hazy through Saturday, with a high tomorrow of about 90 degrees.
Our event listing for this week features plenty of indoor activities, though temperatures should continue to fall over the weekend.
In lighter news, formerly incarcerated singer and rapper Jelly Roll performed this week at the Oregon State Penitentiary.
“It felt so good bringing a little light to such a dark place. I am a firm believer that if we commit crimes we should do our time and be held accountable for our actions, but I also believe that every human deserves love no matter how bad of a decision they have made. It felt good to go love on these guys,” the singer wrote on Facebook.

Salemites gathered Thursday evening to remember loved ones who have died and light luminaria in their honor. About 4,600 luminaria lit up Riverfront Park for the event.
The number of racially and ethnically diverse teachers in the state has grown by about 4% during the last decade and doubled among first-year teachers.
Salem events this week include a night of country music, dancing and delicious food, drag bingo night to support charities and the 15th anniversary of f/STOP Fitzgerald’s.
