In a few weeks, you’ll get a chance to vote directly on a number of issues affecting Oregon.

Among them is Measure 118, the so-called “Oregon Rebate,” which would set a minimum tax of 3% on corporate sales over $25 million in Oregon, then distribute that money to Oregonians.

The measure has drawn widespread opposition from both Republican and Democratic legislative leaders in Oregon, as well as Gov. Tina Kotek.

Next week, you can hear directly from both sides. Salem City Club will host a lunchtime event on Friday, Oct. 11, featuring Antonia Gisbert, the measure’s chief petitioner, and opponent Preston Mann, director of political affairs for Oregon Business & Industry.

Civic Club members can catch the program for free, while non-members pay $10. It will be held at noon at the Willamette Heritage Center Dye House, 1313 Mill St. S.E. Learn more and register online.
