The Latest Stories For You From Salem Reporter

Good morning, Salem.
Please consider this your reminder that Halloween is the deadliest day of the year for child pedestrians in the United States.
With that in mind, drivers – go slow and make sure your lights are on.
Adult pedestrians taking kids trick-or-treating – always use crosswalks.
None of these reminders can be overstated.
We hope you have a fun – and safe – night, with plenty of candy.
Three Salem high schools are putting on free Halloween events open to the community Tuesday evening. Kids can trick-or-treat through the halls and get candy from high school students. Events are at:
North Salem High School, 765 14th St. N.E., 5-8 p.m.
South Salem High School, 1910 Church St. S.E, 6-7:30 p.m.
McKay High School, 2440 Lancaster Dr. N.E., 5:30-7 p.m.
