Salem held one of its largest political demonstrations in years as thousands participated in the No Kings rally on Saturday.

Salem Reporter had a reporter and photographer on the scene from the start to finish. They also covered a nearby event that targeted a potential recall of Gov. Tina Kotek.

We began publishing our coverage by 1 p.m. Saturday and updated our website through the afternoon. By the time the crew called it a day, Salem Reporter published 39 photos from the day’s events. We recognize how significant this was to local residents.

We’ll be checking with law enforcement on Monday about any safety issues or arrests. There was no indication of any of that by Saturday evening.

Here’s our primary coverage with a link in this piece to our original report.
