Good morning, Salem.

This afternoon, community members can stop by the ARCHES Lodge for a free family-sized box of food provided by the Urban League of Portland.

The “Feed the Folks” event aims to provide a quality, nutritious meal to food insecure people in the community. This year’s provided meal box will include milk, cheese, butter, pasta, bread, pie and a gift card for a whole turkey.

The Tuesday, Nov. 14, event will be from noon to 3 p.m. at ARCHES Lodge, 1875 Fisher Rd. N.E.

To register to receive a box, visit the league’s website.

“My thanks to Jimmy Jones and the Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency for joining the Urban League’s Feed the Feed for first time. It’s always a good day to stand with a leader in Marion- and Polk Counties who combats the causes of poverty as we do,” said league President Harmon Johnson in a statement.
