Good morning, Salem.

There’s still time to apply to join Salem Housing Authority’s waitlist for five affordable apartment complexes in Salem.

Tenants at the apartments generally pay no more than 30% of their monthly income on rent. The apartments range in size, able to house families between one and nine people.

The application closes Sunday, Nov. 17, at 11:59 p.m.

All properties limit tenants to an income of no more than $38,400 a year for an individual or $49,320 for a family of four. Some have lower income limits, and some require applicants to have a disability to meet other criteria.

To apply, visit the Salem Housing Authority’s website. There are also paper applications available on request by contacting the Salem Housing Authority by email at [email protected] or by calling 503-588-6368.

The office, at 360 Church St. S.E., is open between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, and closed for lunch between noon and 1 p.m.

People can apply to multiple properties by entering their information once then selecting multiple properties when prompted at the end of the application process. Applicants will be placed on the list in the order their application is received.
