The Latest Stories For You From Salem Reporter

Good morning, Salem.
Our local library consortium is searching for a new mobile app after one used by Chemeketa Community College Regional Library Services unexpectedly stopped working this week.
That means you won’t be able to search the Salem Public Library catalog or place holds from your phone until CCRLS has a new app.
Doug Yancey, the CCRLS director, said the library consortium wasn’t warned about the issue in advance, which happened because an app developer unexpectedly withdrew support from the app. The app was one of several items provided by CCRLS’ main vendor, he said.
“We are actively exploring replacement options with our system vendor and apologize for the confusion, frustration and inconvenience this situation may be causing,” said a CCRLS email to patrons Friday afternoon.
“In the meantime, please note that our online catalog remains available and is fully functional at https://catalog.ccrls.org. For additional service please contact your home library.”
