The Latest Stories For You From Salem Reporter

Good morning, Salem.
Salem Reporter relied on the original information in our stories last week. We have amended those stories to reflect the city’s new information. We also asked for an explanation from city officials how such a mistake could occur regarding one of the community’s priority concerns.
“The number was incorrect due to simple human error. The person who wrote the staff report is not the person who calculated the data, and the information was not written correctly,” Salem police spokeswoman Angela Hedrick said in an email. “The numbers have been verified today, and we will thoroughly examine these statistics to ensure accurate data is released.”
Our team will keep you posted.
