Good morning, Salem.
Hospital leaders announced completion in early November after a year of work. The expansion and retrofit means the emergency room has space to treat 14 patients at a time, which should reduce wait times.
“As the local population has grown, so has demand for emergency care. These upgrades represent a significant investment in our infrastructure and will enable us to continue offering the high-quality healthcare to our community that is deserved and has become expected, said Maggie Hudson, president and CEO of Santiam Hospital & Clinics, in a statement.
The hospital is an independent not-for-profit. It’s one of three hospitals in Marion County, alongside Salem Hospital, which is Salem’s largest medical provider, and Legacy Silverton.
